G0066: the coat of arms of Andrea Pompili, of Italy, as granted by the Chief Herald of Arms of Malta and emblazoned by me for this grant. The image shows the finished painted angel described in the blazon holding two sheets of tracing paper, on which that same angel is hand-drawn in ink through two successive stages of development, the lower sheet preserving an earlier stage and the upper a more advanced version; in turn, the hand-drawn angel is shown holding the coat of arms of the armiger. The finished painted angel holds its head slightly more upright than the hand-drawn version. The open book in the background is used purely as a decorative backdrop.
