The banner of arms of Kimberly Louise Severson designed by her and emblazoned by me. In this interpretation of the banner of arms, the banner is shown mounted on a pole. The upper end of the pole has been ornamented with an element derived from the heraldic badge, namely Aslan's paw print. This is, however, purely an artistic and decorative feature and does not form part of the heraldic description, that is, the blazon.

Coat of arms of Yaroslav Pototsky emblazoned by me under his directions. [Académie internationale d'héraldique; 1952; figure 79] defines, in the case of a charge placed lower in the shield than its default position, the terms «abatido», «in base», «abaissé» and «abbassato» in Spanish, English, French and Italian respectively, and when it is specifically a chevron, [Académie internationale d'héraldique; 1952; figure 147], «cabria bajado», «chevron in base», «chevron failli (abaissé)» and «abassato». But [Real Academia Española; 2001; abatido] provides meanings more associated with mood and other negative connotations rather than with a geometric position; in geometry, for instance, «abatir» a plane means to rotate it through an imaginary hinge rather than to lower it, which creates confusion. Likewise, the English term «abased» also carries negative connotations. Therefore, I prefer to use the terms «en punta» ~ «chevron in base», which I believe are more illustrative.
