Arms interpreted by me, highlighted with lights and shadows, contoured in Sable, with an ogee external shape and with a watercolor finishing.

This is the coat of arms of Abdulelah Alyahya (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), designed by Vittorio Gifra (Italy) under his instructions, revised by Bob Juchter van Bergen Quast (Netherlands) and Kevin D. Couling (United Kingdom), and emblazoned by me (Spain). The arms reflect the heritage of the Alyahya family, descendants of the ancient tribe of Beno Tamim (Altamimi) and linked to the modern origins of Saudi Arabia. These arms exemplify how modern heraldry operates on a global scale, the process involved several countries: a design originating in Italy following the instructions of the armiger in Saudi Arabia, revised by experts in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, and rendered by me in Spain, it serves as an example of international collaboration within the field. In an ordinary, I distinguish between engrailed and invected from the ordinary's point of view; for instance, I define a bordure as invected if, from the interior of the bordure, the edge appears invected (meaning the arcs appear concave); conversely, I say a bordure is engrailed if the arcs appear convex from its interior point of view; in this specific case, regarding a line of division, I describe it as engrailed because, from the perspective of the base of the coat of arms, the arcs of the partition line appear convex [Nisbet, A.; 1816; page 21, pictures 1 and 2].

Escudo partido de azur y plata: un cabrio surmontado de un caballo de doma saltante y en punta tres ondas del mar, todo del uno al otro.

Coat of arms created with the following form: a pointed base; the field, the horse, the chevron and the sea are enamelled in plain Azure and Argent; the ordinary, chevron, and the 2 charges, horse and sea, are outlined of the field; the horse, in all its representations, is evirated, although this is something I have decided not to blazon; and the shield has a rough finish.

Canting arms

There are not many examples canting arms for 2 surnames, this is an example designed by me in Castilian: a dressage horse [called in Castilian «caballo de DOMA»], and [a conjunction that in Castilian is «y», that sounds «I»] a chevron [in Castilian «CAbrio»] over a sea [in Castilian «MAR»] in 2 pieces broken [in Castilian «ROTO»]. All the previous capital letters together sound «DOMA·I·CA MAR·ROTO» and the 2 surnames of the owner are DOMAICA MAROTO.

Women's arms

The arms of Juana María Domaica Maroto were presented in my lecture Women and Arms: Contemporary Coats of Arms for Women Worldwide (lecture). This presentation included her coat of arms together with the blazon text, and with its symbolism.

Two columns Argent, capital and base Or, above waves Azure. Moto environing the columns: «Plus Ultra» Or over a scroll Gules.

It has been interpreted by me, highlighted with lights and shadows, contoured in Sable, with a semi-circular outer contour and with a metal beaten finish.

The Pillars of Hercules of the arms of Charles, Holy Roman Emperor, emblazoned by me. This composition has been deliberately designed so that the entire set can be inscribed within a perfect square, ensuring visual balance and making it suitable for use as a self-contained emblem or badge. [Petra Sancta, S.; 1634; pages 415-420] discusses the Pillars of Hercules and devotes a specific section to them, presenting them as a heroic symbol inherited from classical antiquity and reinterpreted in the early modern period. In this context, the columns are first associated with the classical idea of a boundary and subsequently with modern transcendence, that is, with their re-signification under Charles V and the Spanish Monarchy as an emblem of expansion beyond the limits of the ancient world.
