This coat of arms is conceived as an evolution of the canting arms of the Padilla lineage, traditionally depicted with palewise «padillas» ~ oven peels used to place and remove bread from the oven, and crescent moons, all charges Argent on an Azure field; in this reinterpretation, the crescents are transformed into a central sun and the «padillas» into ears of wheat, the symbolic source of bread, with the charges rendered Or on an Azure field.
