Coat of arms of Crepsi, military psychology, former Central Military Region, Kingdom of Spain, where I was stationed during my military service. These arms were designed by my lieutenant colonel and friend Miguel Angel Nuñez Amador, and in this image, they have been emblazoned by me. The Crepsi was a pioneer in its functions: a) the identification of soldiers at psychological risk, among tens of thousands of soldiers, using advanced information systems, including Artificial Intelligence (an area where I contributed during my service in 1989), and b) the evaluation and individualized attention of soldiers at risk through mobile units. The Crepsi has provided trained personnel and methods that are being used for the psychological care of troops deployed to conflict zones and for the psychological care of civilians in massive humanitarian disasters such as terrorist attacks or plane crashes with hundreds of affected people.

Gules, a cross of Burgundy Or; an inescutcheon Or, three bars Gules.
Coat of arms of the Tercio Great Captain, 1st of the Spanish Legion, emblazoned by me in 12 steps. The inescutcheon represents the coat of arms of Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba, 1453-1515, «The Great Captain». To paint the coat of arms of the Tercio Gran Capitán, I applied a geometric method that involves dividing both the width and the height of the shield into three equal parts. This way, the central inescutcheon, bearing the arms of Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba, occupies exactly one third of the width and one third of the height of the main shield. Beyond its compositional function, this method also serves as a symbolic nod to the name of this historic military unit. The shield of the Tercio has been quite literally built using thirds. It is a small play on words and shapes that combines geometry with heraldic tradition.

There are discrepancies regarding the year of her death, with sources suggesting either 1279 or 1288. She bore her father's arms with a bordure compony featuring the arms of Castile and those of her mother, from Swabia. I am particularly fond of compony arms, and this one is, to me, among the most beautiful and quintessentially Castilian.

Coat of arms of the Infante Henry of Castile, 1230–1303, 6th offspring of the King Ferdinand III of Castile, 1199-1252, and the Queen Beatrice of Swabia, 1205–1235. He bore his father's arms, replacing the lion Purpure of the Kingdom of León with a cross flory Purpure, likely due to his close association with the Order of Calatrava, whose emblem is a cross flory Gules. However, he retained the metal Argent field in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and the lion's purple color, suggesting this was more of a conceptual change than a quartering by alliance with the Order of Calatrava.

The escallop symbolises the Holy Catholic Faith and traditional and conservative values. The sword represents Justice and the bearer’s studies in Law, as well as strength and worth. Crest: Upon a helm with a wreath Sanguine and Or, a raven proper. Mantling: Sanguine doubled Or. Motto: «Incipit Vita Nova» Or, over a scroll Sanguine doubled Or.
Arms interpreted by me, illuminated with lights and shadows, outlined in Sable, with an ogee external shape and with a leather finishing.
The arms symbolise the dawn of a new life. The field is tierced per fess to evoke the sky in 3 stages: Sable for the darkness of night, Azure for the horizon at first light, and Sanguine for the rising sun. The 7 stars of Ursa Major, in their traditional arrangement, evoke guidance, constancy, and a Dantesque reference, as the constellation appears in the Divine Comedy. The demi-sun in base, gold upon sanguine, marks the moment of emotional awakening, the dawn of love. The scroll motto «Incipit Vita Nova», the first line of Dante’s Vita Nuova, reflects a personal spiritual transformation. The Azure speaks of eternal loyalty, and the silver stars of purity. The choice of Sanguine, both for the sunlit sky and for the scroll and mantling, is also an homage to Beatrice’s dress as described by Dante at their first encounter. All of the above holds a parallel with the bearer’s personal life, which gives this composition a dual significance, both literary and deeply intimate. The raven as crest, a symbol of memory and intelligence, represents the collector’s spirit and a deep inner life.

Coat of arms of Alejandra Espeja Avieda designed by Juan Lanzagorta Vallín and emblazoned by me. The structure of this coat of arms is based on the arms «Or shield with four pallets Gules» of Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona, which are the arms of the Kingdom of Aragon. Blazoning specific, real-world objects in coats of arms should be avoided. Therefore, in the blazon I describe «four bell towers». However, in this case, for artistic reasons, to echo the elongated form of the four pallets Gules, and due to the origin of the bearer, I depict four bell towers inspired by those on the Nativity Façade of Gaudí’s Sagrada Família in Barcelona.
