I do not agree with the specification of the exact place of origin of the branch, the «nombril point» ~ «navel», because that point of origin does not distinguish this coat of arms from another where the branch could emerge at a different height, either closer or further from the point of the shield, and because it forces the artistic interpretation to either break the rule of fullness or to draw a curved branch in a panache shape to allow it to open before gaining height.

Note how in the Spanish certification of arms, by the Chronicler of Arms of Castile and León, this unnecessary nombril specification as the origin point of the branch is omitted.

The nombril is the exact crossing point of the vertical axis of symmetry of the shield with the lower edge of the bend.

The arms of Geremías Reyes Zelaya express the history of his Honduran family: emigration, work, settlement, prosperity, and inherited values. The fess wavy Azure represents the river and the crossing of the frontier, recalling the family's emigration in search of a better life. The three roundels Gules in chief evoke the family's new settlement, prosperity, and involvement in trade. The mount Vert in base represents the family's rural origins, the mountains, the land, and the cultivation of maize and beans. Design rationale

The fox refers to the clever and resourceful character attributed to the armiger’s family. The federschwert evokes his dedication to Historical European Martial Arts, in particular the German school of Liechtenauer and the long sword. The oak leaves have a double meaning: they symbolize nature and spirituality, linked to his belonging to the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, and being nine in number they allude to his Irish heritage and the legendary figure of Niall of the Nine Hostages. His ancestry includes Irish, English and German roots, the latter once again connected to the sword. The motto translates as «Clever, Caring, Witty».

Design rationale

She is an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She studied Marine Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao (1991–1995), and the marine motifs reflect both her academic training and career. The dolphin on the shield refers to her Puerto Rican heritage, her birthplace in Fajardo, and her personal value of honor. At her request, the shield ends in a semi-circular arch, in keeping with Hispanic heraldic tradition. The three escallops symbolize her family and her compassion. She currently resides in Houston, Texas, which is why the owl in her crest holds a bluebonnet (Lupinus texensis), the state flower of Texas since 1901. The owl represents her profession and her wisdom. A small gold heart on the chain pendant indicates her cadency as first daughter.

Design rationale

The arms symbolise the dawn of a new life. The field is tierced per fess to evoke the sky in 3 stages: Sable for the darkness of night, Azure for the horizon at first light, and Sanguine for the rising sun. The 7 stars of Ursa Major, in their traditional arrangement, evoke guidance, constancy, and a Dantesque reference, as the constellation appears in the Divine Comedy. The demi-sun in base, gold upon sanguine, marks the moment of emotional awakening, the dawn of love. The scroll motto «Incipit Vita Nova», the first line of Dante’s Vita Nuova, reflects a personal spiritual transformation. The Azure speaks of eternal loyalty, and the silver stars of purity. The choice of Sanguine, both for the sunlit sky and for the scroll and mantling, is also an homage to Beatrice’s dress as described by Dante at their first encounter. All of the above holds a parallel with the bearer’s personal life, which gives this composition a dual significance, both literary and deeply intimate. The raven as crest, a symbol of memory and intelligence, represents the collector’s spirit and a deep inner life.

This paper is made from 100% cotton, weighs 280 g/m², and is manufactured using natural fibres and tones. These reduced-size proofs are printed to verify the fitting of the armorial achievement on the sheet, to check the registration marks that frame it, and to assess the rendering and balance of the heraldic tinctures before producing the final print.

This full achievement includes a crown of Baron, it is essential to emphasize that the inclusion of these ornaments does not constitute legal recognition of titles of nobility by the Republic of Malta; rather, it reflects the Office's mandate to preserve and document the cultural and heraldic heritage of the petitioners. The current Chief Herald of Arms of Malta has clarified in various interviews and lectures that, as the Constitution of Malta has not recognized titles of nobility since 1975, the legal framework allowing the Republic of Malta to register a coat of arms featuring coronets is to treat it as historical and cultural evidence of a lineage. This approach is detailed in the book [Gauci, C. This photograph shows my hand-drawn Cirneco dell’Etna hound passant, gorged with a collar of meander motifs, alongside the coat of arms in which it appears as the crest. The drawing was executed directly in ink on tracing paper using a fine technical pen, without any preliminary pencil sketch. Two sheets of tracing paper can be seen in the image: an initial version used to establish the proportions and posture of the hound, and a second version in which the design was corrected and refined before its subsequent digital finishing, visible in the final rendering of the complete achievement.

This augmentation of the grant G0042 has been published in the Government Gazette of Malta, Volume 2, No. 20,240, dated 14^th February 2023, on pages 1265–1266, in both Maltese and English. G0113, Chief Herald of Arms of Malta's grant of Randy David Lee Xavier Potts's arms, whose standard, coat of arms, badge and banner has been emblazoned by me. The difference between the coat of arms assumed by Randy Potts and the coat of arms granted by the Chief Herald of Arms of Malta is that the bald eagle in the chief is blazoned proper. Likewise, the difference in the crest is that the dragon is now blazoned armed and langued Gules. The purpose of these two changes, both in the shield and in the crest, is to allow these elements to stand out a bit more. These coat of arms, standard, badge and banner have been included in the book [Gauci, C. A.; Cassar, R. M.; 2025; page 117] as shown in the photograph of the image.
