The default number of points of a mullet in Castilian heraldry is 5, which is also the default number of points of the English mullet. [Avilés, J.; 1725a; page 279, figure 126] and [Avilés, J.; 1780a; page 312, figure 126] state: «Mullets ordinarily have five rays, or straight points, ... when blazoning this figure, the usual practice is to specify the number of rays when exceeding five».

Design rationale

The symbols represent resilience over time, a bridge over the passage of waters. The design is simple and conceptual, a coat of arms without lines of divisions, and with only two tinctures, the color Sable of the field and the metal Or of the bridge and the waves of water. The motto «Patiens quia aeternus» ~ «Patient because eternal» comes from Augustine of Hippo and reinforces the meaning of this coat of arms.

Coat of arms created with the following characteristics: the base of the shield is pointed; its field is enamelled in plain Azure and Argent; the ordinary and the 2 charges are illuminated in plain Argent and Azure; the horse has a braided and gathered tail, in all my representations; and the whole is outlined of the field and finished with a watercolour effect.

For the angles and proportions of the chevron in this coat of arms I have based myself on some of the chevrons produced by Martin S.J. Goldstraw, who himself bears a Gules chevron in his coat of arms.
