Coat of arms interpreted by me, illuminated with lights and shadows, contoured in Sable, with a tiled external shape and with a watercolor finishing.
As explained by RegretedEagle9, the arms are canting of her surname, Pekny, which in Czech means «beautiful». For this reason the design combines two traditional symbols of beauty: a mermaid and a swan. The tinctures Argent and Gules refer to her Polish roots.

Coat of arms of the Academia de Letras e Artes da Guiné-Bissau, ALAB, designed by Joseph Crews and emblazoned by me. I do not consider the golden edge surrounding the shield to be part of the arms, but rather a mere external decoration; consequently, I do not include it in the blazon, distinguishing it from other heraldic elements such as fimbriations or bordures that are indeed part of the arms.
