Coat of arms emblazoned by me, illuminated with lights and shadows, outlined in Sable, with a pointed outer contour and with a freehand finish.

G0116: the coat of arms of Andrew Ronald McMillan Bell of Auchinreoch, of the United Kingdom, as granted by the Chief Herald of Arms of Malta and emblazoned by me for this grant. The grant describes this cross as «Erminé». In English heraldry, a cross erminée is a cross formed of four ermine spots, not a cross covered with ermine fur, which would be blazoned a cross Ermine. Parker [Parker, J.; 1894] records that some heralds have blazoned as a cross erminée the cross of four ermine spots with their heads meeting at the centre. Just as I paint it in detail, I blazon it in detail, so that there is no room for doubt.

G0116: the coat of arms of Andrew Ronald McMillan Bell of Auchinreoch, of the United Kingdom, as granted by the Chief Herald of Arms of Malta and emblazoned by me for this grant. The English term «terraced», sometimes used in blazon, is equivalent to the term «compartment». In Castilian blazon we use the term «terrazado», in this case as an element outside the shield, while «terrazado» also exists inside the shield in base.

The photograph shows my hand-drawn delineation of the Maltese Rock Centaury. Two versions of the flower are visible, drawn in ink on two sheets of translucent tracing paper: behind, my first attempt, and in front, the second and final version, the one I kept. Below, a row of digitized centaury flowers, painted from that final drawing, is placed as decoration. Finally, the image shows the coat of arms, with the compartment filled with the same flowers.
